COVID-19 Cases Confirmed in SCSD Schools
October 30, 2020
Dear Syracuse City School District Families and Staff,
As we continue to work together through COVID-19, I wanted to continue being transparent and reporting to you any positive cases that may affect you and our school community.
We were informed today by the Onondaga County Health Department that a staff member from the Promising Futures Leadership Academy and a student from Syracuse Latin have both tested positive for COVID-19.
The PFLA staff member has been working from home for three weeks and has not come into contact with any students or staff during that time. The Syracuse Latin student is a hybrid student who was last in the classroom on Tuesday.
The County Health Department, through their contact tracing, will be in touch with those, both staff members and students, who they believe may have been exposed to the individuals who tested positive for COVID-19.
Please remember to wear your mask, stay socially distant and wash your hands frequently to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. Thank you for your continued support and patience, and stay safe.
Sincerely,
Jaime Alicea, Superintendent of Schools
