Dear Families,
We are writing to inform you of a concerning issue that has recently come to our attention involving harmful and racist text messages being sent to our students from an unknown source. This is part of a nationwide trend, and the FBI is investigating these incidents.
These messages contain references that have no place in our school community. We want to assure you that we take this matter very seriously and are actively investigating the source of these messages in collaboration with law enforcement.
The safety and well-being of our students is our top priority, and we are committed to creating a safe and inclusive environment for all. We want to ensure that everyone feels supported and protected.
If your child has received any harmful texts or messages of this nature, we encourage you to discuss it with them and report it to the school immediately. Our staff members are here to provide support, guidance, and resources to address any concerns or questions your child may have.
It is essential that we work together as a school community to combat racism, promote equity, and foster a culture of love, understanding and belonging. Our diversity continues to be our greatest strength, and we will continue to champion this belief.
Please do not hesitate to reach out to the D.E.B. Office if you have any questions, concerns, or information regarding this matter at (315) 435-6456.
Thank you for your attention to this important issue and your ongoing support.
Sincerely,
The Office of Diversity, Equity, and Belonging
