Get Your StudentAid.Gov Account

Students and parents must have a studentaid.gov account to complete the FAFSA form. Families are encouraged to obtain this account one week prior to filing the FAFSA. Students cannot complete their FAFSA without a studentaid.gov account; parents cannot sign the FAFSA without their account. Parents who already have an account do not need to re-apply for one. Apply at www.studentaid.gov. Select Create Account, then Get Started. Applicants will need their social security card. The name on the studentaid.gov account must match the name on the social security card and information on file with the Social Security Administration.

Documents Needed to Complete the FAFSA and TAP forms:
  • Social card (student and parents)
  • 2023 Federal and State tax returns (student and parents)
  • Investment balances (stocks, bonds, real estate other than a principal residence)
  • Business and farms assets (if applicable)
  • Driver's license (student and parents)
