The Office of Teaching and Learning is responsible for overseeing the district's instructional programs and supporting high-quality teaching and learning across all schools. Our mission is to ensure that every student has access to engaging, rigorous, and equitable learning experiences that prepare them for success in college, career, and life.
The Office leads the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of curriculum, instruction, assessment, and professional learning. We work to ensure that instructional resources, academic programs, and professional development opportunities are aligned to the New York State P- 12 Learning Standards and grounded in research-based practices that promote high levels of student achievement. Through ongoing collaboration with schools and departments, we strengthen the coherence, rigor, alignment, and effectiveness of district curriculum and instructional supports. We are committed to providing educators with the tools, resources, and professional learning necessary to meet the diverse needs of all learners while ensuring equitable access to grade-level content and high-quality instruction. Our work is guided by the belief that every student can achieve at high levels when provided with strong instructional opportunities, meaningful support, and a learning environment where they feel valued, challenged, and empowered to succeed.
